Bek Cavalry are what passes for retinue cavalry amongst the Turkic tribes of Swords of the Prophets, and are in essence the minor nobility, or at least those men of means who are able to afford armour and a horse. They don't follow the same drills as do the more heavily armoured elite cavalrymen of more sedentary factions, but then, they do not need to.
The role of Bek Cavalry is simple, and it is to defend light missile units from light cavalry skirmishes. They are best used to hunt down either enemy light cavalry or infantry, or to at least function as a speed bump if an enemy attacks with heavy cavalry. Weak as they are, Bek Cavalry are still fast on foot, so they can be used to draw the attention of enemy players away from your other ranged units, so giving them time to escape whereso needed. At the same time, they are fairly cheap to produce, so there is a chance that if you have superiority in numbers they can be used to engage foes early in the game.
